The CCCO season concludes with a special commemorative work to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower's journey to New England.
Toru Takemitsu's Towards the Sea (1981) was commissioned by Green Peace for the "Save the Whales" campaign, and features a movement dedicated to Cape Cod. The CCCO concludes the concert with Holst's cheery and picturesque Green Brook Suite and Mozart's Symphony No. 40.
